It has been raining quite a bit lately. It is something I should be used to, but it is not something the locals are used. They have been in draught for the past 13 years and apparently this is the year that the draught is ending. While I understand that they need the rain, I wish it would have waited another year. I get enough of it back home. Also, it is causing flooding everywhere. Fortunately, the flooding has not affected me or anyone I work with at this time.
The news pointed out that the locusts and Oprah are both arriving in Melbourne on Friday. The locusts are worse this year than most, probably because of all the room. A coworker told me she has never heard of the being in Victoria, and certainly not in Melbourne. I am hoping that they do not come into the city too much. My only experience with large swarms of locusts is on TV and frankly, the idea creeps me out a bit. I wonder what Oprah thinks about it. :) She and her 300 audience members will be up the street from where I live on Friday. However, I will be at work.
